Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that education is the only path to sustainable development. She urged students and youth to focus on education and sports to bring recognition to the nation.
The Finance Minister visited Pedamainavanilanka village in Narasapuram mandal, West Godavari district, on Sunday. During her visit, she inaugurated new infrastructure facilities at a local high school. The facilities, developed at a cost of ₹18 lakh, include computers, a science laboratory, and other essential educational resources. Union Bank supported the project.

Focus on Education and Youth Development
Addressing the gathering, Nirmala Sitharaman encouraged coastal youth to pursue higher education and contribute meaningfully to society. She said education empowers individuals and strengthens both the state and the country.
Moreover, she assured that the Central Government is ready to extend all possible support for the development of coastal regions. She advised students to study with dedication and move forward with innovative ideas. According to her, today’s students will shape the future of India.
Leaders Attend the Programme
Several senior leaders participated in the event. These included Union Minister Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, State Ministers Payyavula Keshav and Nimmala Ramanaidu, and BJP State President PVN Madhav. Local officials and residents also attended the programme.
Earlier in the day, Nirmala Sitharaman, along with other leaders and officials, watched Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme. She later interacted with students and school staff during her visit.

The Finance Minister highlighted that improving school infrastructure plays a crucial role in strengthening the education system. She said such initiatives help students gain better learning opportunities and skills for the future.
