IG and SP Offer Special Prayers at Western Street
As part of the ongoing Gangamma Jatara celebrations, senior police officials visited Eluru West Street. Eluru Range Inspector General Ashok Kumar and Eluru District Superintendent of Police K. Pratap Shivakishore offered special prayers to the presiding goddesses seated on the festival platforms.
The officials interacted with temple representatives and devotees. At the same time, they reviewed safety arrangements at the festival venue.
Inspection of Mahakumbha Nivedana Preparations
After the prayers, the IG and SP inspected preparations for the major rituals scheduled on February 1 and 2. These include the Mahakumbha Nivedana and other important ceremonial events.
They closely examined the arrangements made by the organising committee. Moreover, they sought clear details on crowd movement and ritual procedures.
Officials Review Procession Routes and Crowd Flow
The officers enquired about the entry and exit routes of the goddesses during the rituals. They also reviewed where the sacred pot will be placed and how devotees will move through the area.
By doing so, they aimed to ensure the smooth conduct of the jatara. Therefore, officials stressed the need for coordination between organisers and police teams.
Devotees Invited to Korlabandi Procession
Gangamma Jatara Committee president Chode Bala Subrahmanyam invited devotees to participate in the Korlabandi procession on February 2. The procession will bring the ceremonial cart carrying the goddesses to the festival platforms on West Street.
The event will feature traditional music, drum beats, and festive instruments. As a result, the area is expected to witness large crowds and vibrant celebrations.
Focus on Safety and Smooth Festivities
Police officials emphasised public safety and crowd discipline throughout the jatara. Additionally, they assured devotees of adequate security arrangements during all major events.
