Former Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh and former Tamil Nadu Governor Konijeti Rosaiah suffered a personal loss on Monday with the passing of his wife, Sivalakshmi. She died at the age of 86 due to age-related health issues at her residence in Ameerpet, Hyderabad.
According to family sources, Sivalakshmi had been suffering from old age–related ailments for some time. She breathed her last peacefully this morning, leaving family members, relatives, and well-wishers in deep grief. The news of her demise has cast a pall of sorrow across political circles in both Telugu states.
Soon after the news broke, leaders and dignitaries from various political parties began arriving at Rosaiah’s Ameerpet residence. They paid floral tributes to her mortal remains and expressed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Senior politicians, former ministers, and party representatives recalled her simple life and extended their support to Konijeti Rosaiah during this difficult time.
Condolence messages have also poured in from across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with many leaders acknowledging Konijeti Rosaiah’s long public service and standing in solidarity with his family. Funeral details are expected to be announced by the family later in the day.
Sivalakshmi’s passing marks the end of a quiet life lived away from the public eye, while standing as a strong support to one of the senior-most leaders in Telugu politics.
