Police Catch Accused After Careful Surveillance
Puthalapattu police arrested a most-wanted criminal involved in ganja smuggling and illegal sales. The accused, Mohan Babu, fell into police custody near Vaddipalli Cross after close surveillance. Police acted on the directions of SP Tushar Dudi, while DSP Sainath supervised the operation.
Multiple Criminal Cases Against the Accused
Mohan Babu hails from Bandapalli village. According to police records, several stations have booked cases against him. He faces nine ganja-related cases and three gaming cases across the former Chittoor district, East Godavari district, and Alluri Sitarama Raju district.
Because of these repeated offences, the police already opened a suspect sheet against him.
Smuggling Network Linked to Visakhapatnam
Police revealed that Mohan Babu illegally transported ganja from Visakhapatnam to different regions. Moreover, he allegedly involved his own family members in these crimes to earn money. Despite earlier arrests and jail terms, he continued the same criminal activities.
As a result, police concluded that he showed no signs of reform.
PD Act to Be Invoked Soon
Due to his repeated involvement in serious crimes, SP Tushar Dudi announced that the police will soon book Mohan Babu under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act. Officials believe this step will help prevent further illegal activities.
Meanwhile, the investigation is continuing to identify other links in the smuggling network.
SP Commends Police Team
SP Tushar Dudi appreciated Puthalapattu CI D. Gopi and his team for their effective work. He praised their commitment and announced rewards for the officers who played a key role in the arrest.
Overall, the arrest marks a major step in curbing ganja smuggling in the region and strengthening law enforcement efforts.
