Team India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya delivered a sensational performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, announcing his return to peak form in emphatic style. Pandya reached his century in just 68 balls and continued his aggressive approach until the end. He eventually scored 133 runs off 92 deliveries, including 11 massive sixes and eight fours. His fearless batting lifted Baroda to a competitive total of 293 runs in 50 overs, despite minimal support from the rest of the lineup.

Apart from Pandya, most Baroda batters failed to make an impact. For Vidarbha, Yash Thakur stood out with four wickets. Still, Pandya’s innings overshadowed all other performances on the day.
Importantly, this knock comes at a crucial time. After recovering from injury, Pandya has shown excellent rhythm in his first match of the season for Baroda. Moreover, his century has strengthened his case ahead of the Indian ODI squad announcement for the New Zealand series.
