A major development has emerged in the high-profile iBOMMA piracy website case, which shook the Telugu film industry. Police investigations have revealed that the prime accused, Imandi Ravi, allegedly created fake identity documents using another person’s name.
Fake PAN Card and Driving Licence Created
During the probe, officials found that Ravi generated a fake PAN card and driving licence in the name of Prahlad Vellela. He reportedly used these forged documents to conceal his identity and carry out illegal online activities linked to the piracy website.
‘Roommate’ Claim Turns Out to Be False
Earlier, Ravi told investigators that Prahlad was his roommate. However, this claim raised suspicion. As a result, police summoned Prahlad, a software professional working in Bengaluru, to Hyderabad for questioning.
When investigators questioned Prahlad in Ravi’s presence, the truth came out.
Prahlad Denies Any Connection With Ravi
“I do not know Imandi Ravi at all. I was shocked to learn that fake documents were created in my name,” Prahlad told the police. His statement clearly established that Ravi’s roommate story was false.
Based on preliminary findings, police suspect that Ravi misused Prahlad’s personal details to create forged identity documents and used them for illegal operations.

Meanwhile, investigators have already confirmed that Imandi Ravi operated the iBOMMA piracy website alone. The case investigation began in November 2025, following complaints from the Telugu film industry over massive copyright violations.
Police Custody Ends on December 29
Police custody of Imandi Ravi is scheduled to end on December 29. Officials stated that further action will depend on forensic reports and additional evidence collected during the investigation.
This latest revelation has added another serious layer to the case, highlighting the extent of planning and identity fraud involved in running one of the most notorious piracy platforms in recent years.
