The Indian government has issued a high-alert advisory for Indian citizens living in Israel, urging them to step out only when absolutely necessary. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) released the advisory on Friday amid growing security concerns in West Asia, following rising tensions between Iran and the United States.
According to intelligence inputs, the escalating geopolitical situation could have a direct impact on Israel’s internal security. In view of this, the MEA has asked Indian nationals to remain extremely vigilant and strictly follow the safety guidelines issued by Israeli authorities, especially those related to internal security.
Advisory for Indians Living in Israel
At present, more than 40,000 Indians reside in Israel, including IT professionals, healthcare workers, and students. The Indian Embassy has advised these residents to avoid unnecessary travel, stay indoors as much as possible, and closely monitor official announcements.
The advisory also requested Indians planning to travel to Israel to postpone their journeys until further notice. The embassy stressed the importance of personal safety and urged citizens to stay connected with official communication channels.
Notably, countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom have also issued similar warnings to their citizens, highlighting the seriousness of the evolving situation in the region.
Preparations Underway for Indians in Iran
Meanwhile, India has also stepped up efforts to ensure the safety of its citizens in Iran, where internal unrest and the threat of US military action continue to raise concerns. Around 10,000 Indian nationals, including students and tourists, are currently in Iran.
The Indian Embassy in Tehran has advised Indians to leave the country immediately using available commercial flights. Authorities have assured that they are prepared to facilitate evacuation if the situation worsens.
Emergency Contacts and Registration
To handle emergencies, the Indian Embassy has shared dedicated helpline numbers, including +972-54-7520711, for Indians in Israel. Officials have also urged citizens to register their details on the embassy website to ensure quick assistance if required.
The MEA further advised Indian nationals to remain in constant touch with the Indian Embassy and consulates, follow verified updates, and avoid spreading unverified information.
Government Prioritises Citizen Safety
The latest advisory underlines India’s commitment to prioritising the safety of its citizens abroad during times of international crisis. As the West Asia situation remains volatile, the government continues to monitor developments closely and stands ready to take further steps if needed.
Indian citizens in the region have been asked to stay calm, remain alert, and cooperate fully with local and Indian authorities until the situation stabilises.
