A shocking murder case has emerged from Indore, where a young MBA student was found dead inside a flat under suspicious circumstances. Police investigations revealed that her boyfriend allegedly killed her following an argument fueled by suspicion and jealousy.
The accused, identified as Piyush, was later arrested in Maharashtra after attempting to evade authorities.
Heated Argument Turns Deadly
According to police officials, the incident occurred on January 11. Piyush allegedly took the victim to his flat in Indore. After spending time together, a heated argument reportedly broke out between the couple over marriage and suspicions that she was chatting with other people.
During the confrontation, Piyush allegedly slit her throat, killing her inside the flat.
Authorities believe jealousy and possessiveness were the primary motives behind the crime.
Accused Flees to Maharashtra
After committing the murder, Piyush fled from Indore to Panvel in Maharashtra. He checked into a hotel and attempted to avoid suspicion.
Police sources revealed that while staying in Panvel, he allegedly performed tantric rituals in his hotel room. He reportedly believed these rituals would help “bring back the soul” of the deceased woman.
Investigators also stated that he destroyed the victim’s mobile phone to eliminate potential evidence.
Later, he travelled to Mumbai, where he spent a night riding local trains in an effort to avoid detection.
Body Discovered After Foul Smell
The crime came to light on January 13 when neighbours at Piyush’s Indore apartment reported a foul smell coming from the flat.
Police immediately responded and forced entry into the residence. Inside, they discovered the victim’s body lying naked on a bed.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family had already filed a missing person complaint, which helped authorities confirm her identity as an MBA student from Indore.
Police Track and Arrest the Accused
Using mobile call data records and technical surveillance, investigators traced Piyush’s movements across states. The tracking eventually led police to Maharashtra, where he was taken into custody.
Officials confirmed that further investigation is underway to gather forensic evidence and establish the full sequence of events.
The case has shocked residents of Indore and raised concerns about rising crimes linked to possessiveness and relationship disputes.
