Andhra Pradesh Minister Anagani Satya Prasad on Monday said that former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy showed more interest in Rushikonda than in completing medical colleges during the previous YSRCP regime.
Addressing the media at the TDP office in Repalle of Bapatla district, Minister Anagani distributed Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) cheques worth ₹86 lakh to 41 beneficiaries. He said the CMRF continues to provide strong financial support to economically backward sections. According to him, the Repalle constituency alone has received nearly ₹10 crore through the fund so far.
The minister alleged that during the five-year YSRCP rule, not a single poor person benefited from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He also criticised YSRCP leaders for staging “dramas” in the name of collecting one crore signatures.
Anagani asserted that the coalition government will complete the construction of medical colleges within the next two years. He pointed out that the previous government failed to complete even one medical college during its tenure. “Jagan had more concern for Rushikonda than for medical education infrastructure,” he remarked.
He further accused the YSRCP government of pushing the state into darkness between 2019 and 2024. In contrast, he said, Andhra Pradesh has returned to the path of development across all sectors after the coalition government came to power.
Looking ahead, Minister Anagani expressed confidence that Visakhapatnam will soon emerge as a major IT hub, creating new opportunities and driving economic growth in the state.
