The Magnum Opus collected ₹290.25 crore in India, with over ₹100 crore in Karnataka alone. This showcases regional dominance. Given its current momentum, industry experts predict that Kantara: Chapter 1 is on track to become the first-ever film to cross the ₹200 crore mark in Karnataka.
The film’s pan-India success is further amplified by its Hindi and Telugu versions. These versions have drawn massive crowds beyond its native Kannada-speaking audience. Trade analysts now project a lifetime collection between ₹650–700 crore, fueled by glowing word-of-mouth and repeat viewings.

Kantara: Chapter 1 has delivered an outstanding performance across India, emerging as a true box office sensation in Karnataka. The film registered the biggest opening weekend ever in Karnataka. It continued its momentum with the highest Monday gross of all time in the state. On its first Monday alone, the movie earned around ₹15 crore. This surpassed the previous record of ₹11.50 crore set by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, pushing KGF Chapter 2 (₹9.50 crore) to third place, according to Sacnilk data.
