A shocking incident from Kerala has left locals stunned after a beggar who died in a road accident was found to be carrying a large sum of money. The incident took place in Alappuzha district, where the death of a man believed to be living hand-to-mouth revealed a secret fortune worth over ₹4.5 lakh.
According to local sources, the deceased was identified as Anil Kishore, who lived by begging in the Charummood area. On Monday night, Anil suffered injuries in a road accident. Concerned residents rushed him to a nearby hospital. However, he reportedly left the hospital without informing anyone. The following morning, locals found him dead in front of a shop, triggering shock and concern in the area.
Cash and Foreign Currency Found
After receiving information, the police arrived at the scene and shifted the body for postmortem examination. During the inspection, officials noticed a container lying near the body and seized it. When they opened the container in the presence of local panchayat member Philip Umman, they were astonished by its contents.
The box contained bundles of currency notes packed in plastic covers. Police confirmed that the cash amounted to more than ₹4.5 lakh. Along with Indian currency, the container also held demonetized ₹2,000 notes and foreign currency, raising further questions about how the money was accumulated.
Locals Express Shock
Local residents and the panchayat member said Anil used to beg mainly to meet his daily food expenses. Therefore, no one suspected that he possessed such a large amount of money. His lifestyle gave no indication of hidden wealth, making the discovery even more surprising.
Police to Deposit Money in Court
Police officials stated that they would submit the seized cash to the court as per legal procedure. They added that the court would decide the future course of action, whether or not any family members come forward to claim the money.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion in the area, highlighting how appearances can often hide unexpected truths and leaving many residents questioning the untold story behind Anil Kishore’s life.
