Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a blistering attack on the Congress government, accusing Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of having “zero understanding of river water issues” and branding the state’s irrigation ministers as “dangerously ignorant.”
Felicitation Meeting Boosts BRS Cadres
Addressing a felicitation meeting of newly elected Sarpanches, Deputy Sarpanches, and Ward Members at the BRS office in Nalgonda, KTR congratulated the grassroots leaders. He said their victory has injected renewed confidence into the party. Moreover, he claimed the results reflected rising public dissatisfaction with the Congress government.
‘Case Dramas to Escape Accountability’
KTR alleged that the Congress has resorted to case dramas because it cannot answer former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s (KCR) questions on irrigation and governance. He challenged Revanth Reddy to face the media directly and clarify the cases he intends to pursue. “As Home Minister, you should speak openly instead of leaking stories,” KTR said.
Strong Criticism on Krishna Water Management
Meanwhile, KTR came down heavily on the government’s handling of Krishna river waters. He said the Chief Minister lacks basic knowledge of river management. Additionally, he mocked irrigation ministers for admitting they were unprepared to answer water-related questions. According to KTR, such ignorance has harmed farmers and misled the public.
Palamuru–Rangareddy Project ‘Deliberately Blocked’
KTR accused the Congress government of deliberately obstructing the Palamuru–Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project. He pointed out that BRS completed nearly 90 percent of the work, yet the present government failed to finish the remaining portion in two years. He called this delay a betrayal of Telangana’s interests.
Fear of Elections Driving Congress: KTR
On cooperative societies, KTR dared the Congress to conduct elections if it truly believed in its performance. He alleged that fear of unfulfilled “420 promises” has forced the ruling party to avoid polls. Finally, KTR asserted that BRS will not bow to threats or intimidation and will continue questioning the government until justice is delivered to Telangana’s farmers.
