A major road accident was narrowly avoided in Andhra Pradesh after a Kaveri Private Travels bus lost control and rammed into a road divider on the outskirts of Kurnool early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred near the TIDCO House area while the bus was travelling from Puducherry to Hyderabad, triggering panic among passengers on board.
Based on initial reports, the bus reportedly moved into the wrong lane after the driver lost control while driving at high speed. Fortunately, no vehicle approached from the opposite direction at that moment, which helped prevent a potentially deadly head-on collision. The impact damaged the bus, but it did not overturn.
At the time of the accident, around 29 passengers were travelling in the bus. All of them escaped without injuries, bringing relief to both passengers and authorities. Soon after the incident, officials arranged an alternate bus to safely transport the stranded passengers to their destination.
Police rushed to the accident spot after receiving information and began an initial inquiry. They inspected the damaged vehicle and regulated traffic in the area to avoid congestion. Officials are examining whether driver negligence or technical failure caused the mishap.
This incident has once again raised concerns over speeding by private travel buses on highways, especially during early morning hours. Authorities have reiterated the need for strict adherence to traffic rules to avoid such accidents in the future.
Further details regarding the incident are awaited, and police continue their investigation.
