Weather System Strengthens Near Sri Lanka
A surface circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal near Sri Lanka is gaining strength. Meteorological officials say it may intensify within the next 24 hours. By January 8 or 9, the system could develop into a low-pressure area.
Weather experts continue to monitor the system closely. Warm sea conditions are supporting its gradual intensification.
Rain Likely in Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema
The developing low-pressure system is expected to influence weather conditions in Andhra Pradesh. From January 9 onwards, parts of south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema may receive light to moderate rainfall.
Officials expect the rain to occur at isolated locations. At present, authorities have not issued any severe weather warnings.
Dense Fog Warning for Several Districts
Along with rainfall, dense fog may affect several districts over the next two to three days. Early morning hours could witness thick fog in Alluri Sitharama Raju, Eluru, West Godavari, NTR, Guntur, and Prakasam districts.
Low visibility during dawn hours may disrupt road travel. Officials have advised motorists to drive carefully and use fog lights when necessary.
Advisory for Farmers and Commuters
Agriculture officials have urged farmers to stay alert. While light rain may benefit some crops, fog and moisture could impact harvesting and storage activities.
Transport authorities have also cautioned commuters. Reduced visibility due to fog could increase the risk of accidents during early morning travel.
Authorities Monitor Situation Closely
Weather officials stated that the system’s impact will become clearer after it fully develops. They will issue further advisories based on its movement and strength.
Residents in the affected regions should follow official weather updates. Although the system is unlikely to cause major damage, timely precautions can help reduce inconvenience.
