New Delhi: Retired Lieutenant General Dushyant Singh has warned that India may have no option but to launch “Operation Sindoor 2.0” as Pakistan continues repeated provocations on the Kashmir issue with the backing of China and Turkey. He urged India’s armed forces to remain fully prepared for future conflicts.

Speaking at an event held at the South Western Air Command headquarters in Gujarat, Lt Gen Singh, who currently serves as the Director General of the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), said Pakistan has consistently violated the ceasefire agreement reached during Operation Sindoor.

“Operation Sindoor was not the end. It marked the beginning of a new phase in modern warfare,” he said. “Conflicts with adversaries are unavoidable. The sooner we prepare for Operation Sindoor 2.0, the better for national security.”

Lt Gen Singh stated that Operation Sindoor exposed Pakistan’s military weaknesses and marked the first time since the 1971 war that India’s three armed services worked in complete coordination. He stressed that such joint operations would be crucial in future engagements.

He also expressed concern that India has lagged behind in countering anti-India narratives at the global level. Highlighting cyber threats, he revealed that cyberattacks on government networks increased sevenfold during Operation Sindoor. He added that the National Stock Exchange alone faced nearly 400 million cyberattacks during that period.

To tackle cyber warfare and misinformation, Lt Gen Singh recommended the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for threat detection and information verification. He further called for allocating at least 3 percent of India’s GDP to the defence sector and emphasized the urgent need to reform the country’s intelligence and surveillance systems.

His remarks underline growing security concerns as regional tensions continue to rise, reinforcing the need for military readiness and technological advancement.
