Energy Minister Sri Gottipati Ravi Kumar has ordered AP DISCOMs to ensure a continuous power supply across the state during the Maha Sivaratri festival. This includes all temples and nearby areas where large crowds are expected.
Teleconference with DISCOM CMDs
On Wednesday, the Minister held a teleconference with CMDs of AP DISCOMs—Sri L. Siva Sankar, Sri I. Prudhvi Tej, and Sri P. Pulla Reddy—along with senior Energy Department officials. They discussed festival preparedness and steps to prevent power disruptions.
Continuous Power for Devotees
The Minister stressed that uninterrupted electricity is essential for smooth temple events and for the convenience of devotees. He instructed DISCOMs to set up backup power wherever needed. Maintenance teams must remain ready 24×7 to handle any issue immediately.
Preventive Checks and Quick Response
Officials were asked to check feeders, transformers, and power lines in advance. They should be ready to restore power quickly if any fault occurs. Field officers must monitor closely and coordinate actively at all times during the festival.
Priority Task for Reliable Supply
Sri Gottipati Ravi Kumar said ensuring reliable power is a top priority. He urged DISCOMs to work proactively so devotees can celebrate safely and without interruption.
Participation of Senior Officials
Senior officials from DISCOMs and Operation Circles joined the teleconference. They will follow the Minister’s instructions to maintain a smooth power supply and ensure zero interruptions throughout the festival.
