Actor and producer Manchu Vishnu has announced the AVA International Short Film Contest – 1 to encourage fresh talent in cinema. He made this announcement during Sankranti under the banner of AVA Entertainments.
According to Vishnu, the contest aims to identify creative storytellers and skilled directors. More importantly, it seeks to offer them a direct entry into mainstream cinema.
Chance to Direct a ₹10 Crore Film
As per the announcement, participants can submit short films of up to 10 minutes. The selection committee will judge entries based on storytelling, originality, and direction.
Moreover, the winning director will get a rare opportunity. Manchu Vishnu will produce a feature film with a ₹10 crore budget for the winner. He said this initiative will help talented filmmakers turn their dreams into reality.

In a video message, Vishnu explained the vision behind the contest. He stated that many talented directors lack the right platform. Therefore, this contest aims to bring deserving filmmakers into the spotlight.
