The Maoist movement has entered its final stage as key leaders surrender to authorities. Today, in the presence of DGP Shivadhar Reddy, four prominent Maoist leaders gave themselves up to the police.
Leaders Who Surrendered
The leaders include:
Devji, also known as Tippiri Tirupati, is serving as the party secretary
Malla Rajireddy, a member of the Maoist party Politburo
Bade Chokkar Rao, also known as Damodar
Narasimha Reddy alias, also known as Ganganna
These leaders formally surrendered in front of police officials, marking a significant breakthrough in the government’s anti-Maoist efforts.
Government Operation and Announcement
The surrender follows Operation Kagar, launched in line with the central government’s strategy to weaken Maoist influence. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had earlier announced that the government aims to bring Maoists back into mainstream society by March 31 this year.
Due to these efforts, several other Maoist members are now also choosing to surrender. Authorities say this marks a historic turning point in reducing Maoist insurgency in affected regions.
Impact on the Maoist Movement
Officials believe that the ongoing surrenders will significantly disrupt Maoist operations. Meanwhile, rehabilitation programs are being planned to help surrendered leaders reintegrate into society. The government continues to urge remaining members to surrender peacefully and take advantage of these programs.
