The Telangana government has introduced strict and advanced security measures for the Medaram Sammakka–Saralamma Jatara. The grand tribal festival will take place from January 28 to January 31. Authorities expect nearly three crore devotees to attend the four-day event.
Known as the “Telangana Kumbh Mela,” the Medaram Jatara will see extensive use of modern technology this year. Officials have decided to rely on artificial intelligence to manage crowds and maintain law and order. The goal is to ensure a smooth and safe experience for every devotee.
The government has installed thousands of CCTV cameras across Medaram and the surrounding routes. These cameras support real-time monitoring and crowd-density analysis. A central command control centre will track all movements and issue alerts instantly.
Police officials have increased ground-level security in sensitive areas. Teams from special forces, women police units, and disaster response services will remain on standby. Officers will guide pilgrims and respond quickly to emergencies.
The administration has also strengthened coordination between transport, health, and forest departments. Authorities have set up medical camps, ambulance corridors, and temporary shelters near key locations.
Officials have urged devotees to follow instructions and cooperate with security personnel. The government aims to conduct the Medaram Jatara peacefully while preserving its spiritual and cultural significance.
