Pune police have arrested a 64-year-old woman from Mumbai for delivering drugs in the Pimple Gurav area, uncovering a case involving high-value narcotics. Acting on a tip-off, Sangvi police set a trap and caught her while she was waiting for a buyer. Authorities seized drugs worth approximately ₹2.6 lakh, including 11.5 grams of mephedrone and 9.7 grams of cocaine.
Courier Role Linked to Personal Addiction
The woman, a resident of Juhu Tara Road in Mumbai, reportedly came to Pune to deliver the drugs under instructions from a supplier based in Malad. During questioning, she confessed that she had agreed to work as a courier to obtain drugs for her own addiction.
NDPS Case Registered; Hunt on for Main Supplier
Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities actively searching for the primary supplier behind this operation.
