Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced a major boost for students aiming for top institutions in India and abroad. He introduced a loan scheme at just 25 paise interest. The State government will guarantee these loans, which banks will issue. Students will have 14 years to repay the amount.
Additionally, the State government will set up two coaching centres for BC students preparing for IIT and NEET. Naidu reviewed welfare programmes for SC, ST, BC, Minority, and Physically Challenged communities during a meeting at the Secretariat.
He directed officials to upgrade BC hostels into residential schools with modern infrastructure. He also urged installation of solar rooftops to cut electricity costs. Earlier in the day, Naidu met 312 BC residential school students who secured admission to IIIT. He congratulated them for their achievement.
He emphasised the need to implement the ‘One Family–One Entrepreneur’ policy. This initiative aims to empower economically weaker sections through entrepreneurship. Naidu instructed officials to clear pending payments to imams and pastors. He also proposed distributing gas-powered iron boxes to washermen.
Moreover, he called for modern technology in traditional occupations. He stressed the importance of alternative income sources to uplift disadvantaged communities. Ministers Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy, N Md Farooq, and S Savita attended the meeting along with senior officials.
