Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was greeted with an enthusiastic reception at Dubai Airport on the first day of his three-day UAE tour. A large number of members from the Telugu community, including women entrepreneurs, gathered to welcome the Chief Minister, reflecting the strong cultural and business ties between the UAE and Andhra Pradesh.
The government primarily aims to attract global investments and invite international industry leaders to participate in the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam (Vizag), scheduled for November 14 and 15.
Strategic meetings with Indian diplomatic officials
Following his arrival, Naidu met A Amarnath, Charge d’affaires, Embassy of India, and Satish Sivan, Consulate General, Dubai. During the meeting, Consul General Sivan highlighted the growing economic partnership between India and the UAE.
“Trade relations with India have grown by fifty per cent over the past three years. Indians are increasingly investing in the UAE, paving the way for further bilateral trade,” said Consul General Satish Sivan. “The UAE has focused on non-oil sectors, establishing a separate ministry for Artificial Intelligence in 2017,” he added.
Charge d’affaires Amarnath emphasised that the UAE has invested $23 billion in India so far and has achieved 50% returns over the past three years. He added that the UAE is keen to invest in sectors like education, healthcare, green energy, and food parks in India.
Naidu highlights strong India-UAE relations
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the growth of India-UAE relations and Andhra Pradesh’s investment-friendly policies.
“The past decade has strengthened India-UAE ties. Several countries are now facing challenges with ageing populations, and India is emerging as a hub for talent and the knowledge economy,” Naidu said. “Andhra Pradesh offers abundant opportunities in green energy, technology, data centres, and the upcoming quantum valley. The State is also focused on expanding its food processing sector,” the Chief Minister affirmed.
Naidu further mentioned that Google is coming to Andhra Pradesh, signalling confidence from global tech leaders. He added that the State government is prioritising policies to attract sustainable and technologically advanced industries.
CII Partnership Summit in Vizag is a platform to explore investment potential
The three-day Naidu UAE tour aims to engage with potential investors and showcase Andhra Pradesh as a premier investment destination. The CII Partnership Summit in Vizag will serve as a platform to invite UAE industry leaders to explore AP’s growth sectors, including green energy, technology, education, and food processing.
“We are committed to creating a business-friendly environment. The summit will be a bridge for global investors to partner with Andhra Pradesh in shaping future industries,” Naidu said.
R&B Minister BC Janardhana Reddy, Food Processing and Industries Minister TG Bharath, and senior officials accompanied the Chief Minister.
Strengthening India-UAE economic relations
The Chief Minister’s visit underscores the strategic economic relationship between India and the UAE. Officials noted that the UAE is actively seeking to diversify investments beyond oil, with a strong focus on technology, knowledge economy, and sustainable development. Andhra Pradesh’s policies align with these priorities, making the state an attractive destination for UAE investments.
Consul General Satish Sivan said the UAE is expanding its partnership in technology and trade with Indian states like Andhra Pradesh. India has become a destination for knowledge economy investments, he added.
Sobha Group donates 100 crore for world-class library in Amaravati
As part of his three-day UAE tour, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu met Sobha Group Founder PNC Menon and briefed him about the development of Amaravati.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister explained the investment potential in the tourism, real estate, and hospitality sectors in Andhra Pradesh. He also highlighted Google’s biggest investment outside the US, Google’s AI Data Centre in Visakhapatnam. Later, Naidu invited Sobha Group Founder PNC Menon to Amaravati to witness the ongoing infrastructure and development works. He described Andhra Pradesh as the global destination for investments.
During the meeting, PNC Menon announced a contribution of 100 crore for the development of a world-class library in Amaravati.
