Nara Lokesh Opens Cognizant’s Temporary Office in Visakhapatnam
Andhra Pradesh IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh opened Cognizant’s temporary office in Visakhapatnam. The new workspace sits inside the Mahati Fintech Building at Rushikonda IT Park, Hill-2. It offers a 1,000-seat capacity, giving the company a strong start in the city. MP Sribharat, MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, and several officials joined the event.
CM to Lay Foundation for Cognizant’s Permanent Campus
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for Cognizant’s permanent global campus on Friday. The Andhra Pradesh government allotted 21.31 acres at Kapuluppada IT Hills for the project. Cognizant will build a world-class AI and Digital Transformation campus in three phases.
The company plans to invest ₹1,583 crore in the project. Once complete, the campus will create 8,000 jobs. The first phase will finish by 2029 and will offer 3,000 job opportunities. All three phases will be ready by 2033. Until then, Cognizant will operate from its temporary office at Rushikonda. The center will work on AI, Machine Learning, Digital Engineering, and Cloud Solutions.
Eight More Companies Begin Large-Scale Investments
Along with Cognizant, eight more companies will begin construction of their new facilities in Visakhapatnam. These include Tech Thammina, Satva Developers, Imaginnovate Tech Solutions India, Fluentgrid Limited, Motherson Technologies, Qorp Technosoft, ACN Healthcare RCM Services, and Nanrel Technologies.
Together, these companies will invest ₹3,740 crore. As a result, they will create 41,700 jobs in the region.
CM to Review Visakha Economic Region Development
After the foundation ceremonies, the Chief Minister will review development plans for the Visakha Economic Region. He will discuss growth across nine districts, from Srikakulam to East Godavari. The review will focus on roads, railways, ports, logistics, and major infrastructure projects.
Visakhapatnam is moving toward its goal of becoming a major technology and innovation hub. With strong investments and steady planning, the city is set to transform into one of India’s leading IT destinations.
