Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani has emerged as a major pillar of support for Indian para-sports by announcing a Rs 5 crore reward for the Indian blind women’s cricket team, which created history by winning the first-ever Blind Women’s T20 World Cup. The gesture has drawn widespread appreciation from the sports fraternity and fans across the country.

The special reward was announced as a mark of recognition for the team’s outstanding achievement and fighting spirit. The Reliance Foundation described the victory as a symbol of determination, courage, and excellence. According to officials, the financial incentive aims to encourage inclusivity and strengthen grassroots support for differently-abled athletes.
‘United in Triumph’ Celebration in Mumbai
To celebrate the historic achievement, a grand event titled ‘United in Triumph’ was organised in Mumbai. During the ceremony, Nita Ambani personally presented a cheque of Rs 5 crore to the blind women’s team. The event turned even more special as captains of three World Cup–winning Indian teams shared the same stage.
Blind women’s team captain Deepika received the honour alongside Rohit Sharma, captain of the men’s T20 World Cup 2024–winning team, and Harmanpreet Kaur, who led India to victory in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.
Nita Ambani’s Emotional Message
Speaking at the event, Nita Ambani expressed deep emotion and pride. She said the new year had begun on a powerful note for Indian sports. Moreover, she called it a rare and proud moment to celebrate three world champions together. She added that the nation salutes their hard work and resilience.
