Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan underlined his commitment to environmental protection during his visit to Visakhapatnam, where he took part in multiple wildlife and green initiatives at the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park. Marking his mother’s birthday, he chose a meaningful gesture by adopting two giraffes for a full year and taking responsibility for their upkeep, including food and medical care.
During his tour of the zoo, Pawan Kalyan inaugurated a newly developed bear enclosure and spent time observing various animal habitats. He interacted with zoo officials and staff, discussing animal health, safety, and the need to maintain natural living conditions. His presence drew attention to the importance of humane care and long-term planning for wildlife conservation.

The Deputy Chief Minister later visited Kambalakonda Eco Park, where he launched the “Nagara Vanam” initiative aimed at expanding urban green spaces. He explored the park’s rich biodiversity and stressed the role of forests in balancing the climate, protecting wildlife, and improving urban living standards. He also highlighted the need to preserve native plant species for future generations.
Speaking during the visit, Pawan Kalyan urged corporate organisations to actively support wildlife protection through structured contributions and partnerships. He emphasised that conservation should be a shared responsibility involving government, private institutions, and citizens working together.
This Visakhapatnam visit reflected Pawan Kalyan’s broader vision of combining development with ecological balance. By linking personal values with public action, he reinforced the message that protecting nature and wildlife must remain a priority for Andhra Pradesh’s sustainable future.
