State politics witnessed renewed focus on governance as Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan made strong remarks during a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati. The meeting brought together ministers and secretaries from various departments to assess progress on key welfare and development programmes.
Massive Funds Cleared for Rural and Tribal Welfare
During the discussion, Pawan Kalyan revealed that the government had significantly increased allocations for major grassroots initiatives. He said ₹2,500 crore was sanctioned last year under the Palle Panduga programme. However, under Palle Panduga 2.0, the government approved ₹5,700 crore. In addition, ₹1,500 crore was allocated for Adivi Thalli Bata, while SASCI received ₹2,123 crore. Altogether, the total funding crossed ₹11,328 crore.
At the same time, the Deputy CM stressed that the government was achieving more despite limited resources. According to him, smart planning and disciplined spending made it possible to expand welfare schemes without putting pressure on the state’s finances.
Focus on Transparency and Ground-Level Impact
Pawan Kalyan underlined that every rupee must deliver visible results at the field level. Therefore, he urged officials to execute projects with complete transparency. He also warned that public trust depends on outcomes, not announcements. Moreover, he pointed out that some departments showed signs of indifference during implementation.
Because of this, he expressed dissatisfaction over delays and weak monitoring. He made it clear that such lapses would not be tolerated going forward.
Accountability Fixed at the Top
The Deputy CM said both he and the Chief Minister had fixed accountability at the highest level. As a result, officials must ensure that policies translate into real benefits for citizens. He reminded the administration that accountability begins at the top but succeeds only when field officers perform with commitment.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan highlighted the importance of support from the Prime Minister. He said the Centre’s cooperation, combined with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s administrative experience, strengthened governance in the state.
Clear Message to Officials
Finally, Pawan Kalyan sent a firm message to the bureaucracy. He stated that welfare programmes should not remain on paper. Instead, they must reach villages, tribal belts, and remote regions without delay. He also emphasised that performance reviews would focus strictly on outcomes.
With this, the government signalled a results-driven approach, placing responsibility squarely on officials to deliver promises made to the people.
