Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has begun a three-day visit to his home constituency, Pithapuram, starting today. The tour combines festive participation with administrative programs and development activities across the constituency and Kakinada district.
He is scheduled to arrive in Pithapuram on Thursday night. From there, his engagements will continue over the next three days.
Sankranti Celebrations to Start on January 9
On Friday morning, Pawan Kalyan will inaugurate the ‘Peethikapura Sankranti Mahotsavams’, a grand cultural event being organised in Pithapuram. At 10:30 am, he will reach the R.R.B.H.R. College grounds and formally launch the celebrations.
Soon after, at 11:30 am, he will lay foundation stones and inaugurate several development projects within the constituency. Following this, he will take part in the Sankranti festivities and visit various cultural stalls set up at the venue.
Deputy CM to Visit Flood-Affected Areas
Later in the evening, Pawan Kalyan will visit Indiranagar Colony and Mohan Nagar near the railway station, which recently faced flooding. During these visits, he will review the situation and interact with affected residents to understand their concerns.
Law and Order Review in Kakinada
On Saturday morning, the Deputy Chief Minister will inspect housing sites in the Gollaprolu area. Thereafter, he will proceed to Kakinada and reach the District Police Office at 10:30 am.
At the police office, he will hold a review meeting with officials on law and order issues. Subsequently, at 3:00 pm, he will visit Rangaraya Medical College, where he will lay foundation stones for additional development works.
Sankranti Mahotsavams Highlight Telugu Culture
Meanwhile, the three-day Sankranti Mahotsavams in Pithapuram aim to showcase the rich culture and traditions of Andhra Pradesh. Organisers have designed the event to reflect Telugu heritage throughout the celebrations.
On the first day, performances include Haridasu keerthanas, Gangireddula dances, folk songs, Veera Natyam, Urumula dances, Tappeta Gullu, Garaga dance, Lambada dance, and the tribal Thimsa dance. In addition, classical forms such as Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam, along with Kolatam, will be presented.
On the second day, January 10, the programme will continue with all previous performances and, moreover, feature traditional Kerala martial arts displays. Finally, on the concluding day, rural folk songs and a film musical night will entertain the audience.
Overall, with a mix of cultural grandeur and key development initiatives, the Deputy Chief Minister’s visit is expected to draw significant public attention in Pithapuram and surrounding areas.
