Prime Minister Narendra Modi began a three-nation tour today, covering Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman. The visit aims to strengthen India’s bilateral ties and expand strategic cooperation.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Modi will first visit Jordan for two days. He is travelling at the invitation of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein. The visit marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and Jordan. The two leaders will discuss bilateral cooperation, regional peace and security.
On Tuesday, the Prime Minister will travel to Ethiopia at the invitation of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. This will be Modi’s first visit to Ethiopia as Prime Minister. The leaders will hold talks to deepen friendship and boost cooperation in key sectors.
Modi will then visit Oman on December 17 and 18. He is visiting at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. India and Oman are celebrating 70 years of diplomatic ties. During the visit, the Prime Minister will review the strategic partnership in areas such as trade, investment, defence, energy and security.
This will be Prime Minister Modi’s second visit to Oman. The tour highlights India’s focus on strong diplomatic engagement and regional cooperation.
