Actress Poonam Kaur has once again made sensational remarks against filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas, triggering renewed debate in Tollywood. In a social media post, she accused him of causing mental distress to women and alleged that he continues without accountability due to support from sections of the media and film associations.
Poonam shared the post on X (formerly Twitter) on December 30, 2025, bringing a long-running controversy back into public discussion.
Reaction to Trivikram’s Video
Poonam Kaur reacted to a video of Trivikram Srinivas released during the re-release promotions of the 2001 film Nuvvu Naku Nachchaav. In the video, Trivikram spoke about cinema that brings respect rather than fame or money.
Responding sharply, Poonam wrote in English that he was a “bad person” who, according to her, causes severe mental anguish to women and avoids consequences. She alleged that media platforms and the Movie Artists Association (MAA) indirectly protect such individuals.
In a separate Telugu post, she questioned why harassment continues in the industry. She also asked why associations that react quickly to minor issues remain silent on what she described as serious injustices.
Long-Standing Allegations
Poonam Kaur has raised allegations against Trivikram Srinivas for several years. She has repeatedly claimed that his actions negatively affected her career and personal life. She has also stated that she suffered professional setbacks as a result.
In the past, Poonam made controversial remarks about actor and politician Pawan Kalyan, who is considered close to Trivikram. During another industry controversy in September 2024, she urged the MAA to revisit her earlier complaints.
Mixed Reactions, No Official Response
The latest post has received mixed reactions online. While some netizens support Poonam for speaking about women’s issues, others criticize her for making allegations without detailed evidence. Some users have also questioned why she has not approached journalists with full disclosures.
So far, Trivikram Srinivas has not issued any official response. Poonam Kaur, who is currently away from films, recently joined the BJP, adding another dimension to the discussion.
