On September 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a private discussion inside his ultra-secure Aurus limousine during the SCO Summit in China, which Indian Today Global claimed had foiled a CIA plot. He broke security protocol and drove PM Modi in his car, a rare gesture never seen before from the Kremlin.
As per the same India Today Global report, on the night of August 31, inside Dhaka’s luxury hotel, the body of an American citizen was quietly removed from a suite on the ninth floor. It was allegedly shifted to the US Embassy in Bangladesh without a postmortem. The US citizen’s name is Terrence Arvelle Jackson.
But why is the death of an American under the lens?
Disclaimer: This report is based on open-source intelligence (OSINT), media reports, and claims circulating in YouTube and X (formerly Twitter). Some allegations mentioned remain unverified. No government agency has officially confirmed them.
According to the India Today Global report, within hours, his body was handed over to US Embassy officials and flown out of Bangladesh without a single forensic examination. Reportedly, without any official investigation. No questions asked.
To the world, it looked like a silent death abroad. To intelligence agencies watching South Asia, it looked like a covert operation gone wrong. Because he wasn’t just an American visitor. As per the reports and digital traces flagged by OSINT investigators, Jackson had past military links and possible special operations experience. And he died inside a geopolitical flashpoint: Bangladesh.
Because a day later, Russian President Vladimir Putin broke protocol for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the Tianjin summit, Vladimir Putin invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a private discussion inside his ultra-secure Aurus limousine. The two leaders spoke alone for nearly 45 minutes, drawing global attention due to the secrecy surrounding the meeting. The location was carefully chosen. Putin’s vehicle is equipped with advanced shielding that blocks surveillance, signal interception, and electronic tracking.
Analysts believe Putin chose the limousine to ensure their conversation stayed completely confidential and protected from foreign intelligence monitoring, making it a rare environment for sharing highly sensitive information. What triggered that extraordinary Russian gesture? Did Moscow know something India didn’t?
Was there a covert CIA operation in Bangladesh?
Within days, speculation was rife. Was Jackson part of an active CIA network in Bangladesh? If yes, what was their mission? And why did he die?
Reports circulating through digital investigation groups suggest:
- Jackson operated near the Bangladesh–Myanmar border
- He travelled frequently to Cox’s Bazar – home to the controversial Rohingya refugee network
- Insurgents, arms and drug smugglers and foreign intelligence assets use the area for their under-the-radar operations
- Jackson may have used NGO or aid credentials as cover
Indian intelligence reportedly believes Jackson could have been a CIA field agent, building covert influence operations near India’s Northeast—a region on the edge of vulnerable Myanmar.
Indian and Russian intelligence agencies had reportedly detected suspicious communication activity in Bangladesh and beyond, suggesting a potential threat to India’s leadership. In response, RAW and Russia’s SVR collaborated through discreet channels to counter the risk. Analysts believe this cooperation was driven by growing geopolitical friction: India, under Prime Minister Modi, has maintained an independent foreign policy that often conflicts with US objectives: Buying Russian oil despite sanctions, staying neutral on Ukraine, and deepening strategic ties with Moscow.
Such moves have frustrated Washington, which historically has attempted regime changes when governments resist its influence. Some security experts argue that allegedly destabilising PM Modi could enable the US to install a more compliant leadership in India aligned with its Indo-Pacific strategy.

Fire at Dhaka International Airport raises concern
As per the India Today Global report, just days after Jackson’s death, a suspicious fire broke out at Dhaka International Airport. The blaze destroyed equipment destined for Russia’s Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Bangladesh, a major Russian energy project and a strategic asset in South Asia.
Was Putin protecting Modi?
Security sources argue that Jackson orchestrated the Dhaka operation to disrupt India–Russia cooperation or indirectly target Indian leadership by destabilising the region. Officials may have already sent a high-level threat alert to Moscow in response.
That would explain Putin’s security-first gesture in China: He wasn’t being friendly. He was sending a warning: Moscow is watching. Modi is not alone.
The intelligence battlefield: Why Bangladesh matters?
To understand why Jackson died in Dhaka, we must understand Bangladesh’s new role in global espionage. Bangladesh = Strategic Goldmine.
Close to India’s Siliguri Corridor, the ‘Chicken’s Neck’ military choke point
Access to the Bay of Bengal – vital for Indo-Pacific control
Rohingya radicalisation zone – exploited by terror networks
Proximity to Myanmar civil war zones used by arms and drug smugglers
Emerging US military cooperation zone
Russian nuclear project + Chinese port influence in Chittagong
Everyone wants influence here—CIA, MI6, RAW, MSS (China) and FSB (Russia).
Bangladesh’s interim government leader Muhammad Yunus has openly clashed with New Delhi since the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. During a recent meeting, Yunus handed a gift to Pakistan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee chairperson, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, which included a map portraying India’s northeastern states as part of what he described as ‘Greater Bangladesh’.
It should also be noted that Bangladesh, under the leadership of Yonus, started moving closer and mending ties with Pakistan after the historical 1971 Liberation War. Therefore, it does indeed raise eyebrows.
Why was there no postmortem?
This remains the biggest red flag. Bangladesh police confirmed Jackson’s body was directly transferred to US diplomats. Not a single forensic test. No medical report. Why would a sovereign country skip legal procedure for a foreign death?
Currently, as per the media reports, the Indian agencies are mapping Jackson’s movements in Cox’s Bazar, tracking who he met between August 25–31, investigating links to northeastern insurgent outfits and reviewing border intel leaks through NGOs.
Unanswered Questions
- Why no postmortem? Who ordered that?
- What was Jackson’s last phone communication?
- Why did he meet people near the Myanmar border?
- Why has the U.S. Embassy stayed silent?
- What triggered Putin’s personal security gesture toward Modi?
It is yet to be known whether there is an ounce of truth to these claims, as these are neither verified by any government agencies nor by any government officials. This could be an elaborate series of coincidences for all there is. However, it might also hold some substantial truth, given the history of the countries involved. Until any of them sheds some light, for now, these reports remain just a ‘hearsay’.
