A heartbreaking tragedy has shaken Rajamahendravaram after four people died allegedly due to consuming adulterated milk. The incident has created panic among residents and triggered an urgent response from the state government.

Soon after receiving the information, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reacted swiftly. He expressed deep concern and immediately called for strict action against those responsible. Moreover, he announced an ex gratia of ₹10 lakh each to the families of the deceased. In addition, he assured free and advanced medical treatment for the ten people who are currently hospitalised.

CM Raises the Issue in the Assembly

While addressing the Assembly in Amaravati, the Chief Minister strongly condemned milk adulteration. He stated that such criminal negligence would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He also confirmed that authorities have sent milk samples to laboratories in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam for detailed testing.

Meanwhile, officials traced the contaminated milk to a local dairy. Police arrested the dairy owner, Ganeswara Rao, soon after the preliminary findings. The Chief Minister warned that the government would take the strictest possible action against anyone who endangers public health.

Immediate Emergency Review

Earlier, residents from Chowdeshwari Nagar and Swaroop Nagar fell ill after consuming the milk. As soon as reports of multiple hospitalisations and deaths emerged, the Chief Minister conducted an emergency review meeting.

During the meeting, he spoke directly with the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, Medical and Health officials, and Food Safety authorities. He asked for complete details about the victims’ health conditions. Furthermore, he directed doctors to provide the best treatment without delay.

Officials informed him that medical teams collected samples from 75 individuals belonging to the affected families. At the same time, authorities continue to gather additional samples for further investigation.

Continuous Monitoring of the Situation

Subsequently, the Chief Minister instructed senior officials from the Food Safety and Health Departments to visit Rajamahendravaram immediately. He asked them to monitor both the medical treatment and the investigation process closely.

Later in the afternoon, he reviewed the situation again in his Assembly chamber along with ministers and senior officers. This second review ensured coordination between departments and faster action on the ground.

Strong Warning Against Food Adulteration

Importantly, the Chief Minister emphasised that adulterating essential food items like milk is a serious crime. Such acts directly threaten innocent lives. Therefore, he promised stricter inspections and stronger enforcement measures across the state.

As the investigation continues, the government remains on high alert. However, for the grieving families, the loss is permanent. Through swift action and financial support, the administration aims to deliver justice and prevent such tragedies in the future.
