A bizarre robbery attempt came to light in Kota, Rajasthan, where a thief got trapped inside an exhaust fan duct while trying to break into a house.
According to police, the incident took place on January 3. The thief targeted an unoccupied house and planned a stealthy entry. He tried to enter the house through the kitchen exhaust fan duct. However, he got stuck halfway and could not move forward or backward.
The thief struggled for several minutes but failed to escape. He remained hanging inside the duct until the house owner returned home around 1 am. Shocked to see a man stuck in the exhaust fan, the owner immediately alerted the police.
Police teams rushed to the spot and worked for nearly an hour to rescue the trapped thief. After pulling him out safely, they took him into custody and began questioning him.
During the investigation, police found that the accused had arrived in a car fitted with a police sticker. He used the sticker to avoid suspicion while scouting houses.
The incident came into public attention after a video of the thief stuck in the exhaust fan went viral on social media. Police are now investigating whether the accused was involved in similar theft attempts in the area.
