Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday said the Telangana government may not have land left to distribute to the poor, but it remains committed to providing quality education to ensure dignity and opportunity for every student. He stressed that education alone can help people earn respect and lead a secure life.
The Chief Minister made these remarks during his visit to Jadcherla in Mahabubnagar district. He performed bhumi puja for an Integrated Residential School at Jadcherla and a Triple IT (IIIT) campus at Chittaboyinapalli. After the event, he interacted with students from government schools and colleges in the region.
Focus on Education and Irrigation
Revanth Reddy recalled that India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru gave top priority to irrigation projects and education. He said the present Congress government is following the same path. According to him, irrigation projects built decades ago during the Congress rule continue to serve as the backbone of agriculture even today.
He explained that in the past, large tracts of land were held by landlords and feudal lords. The Congress government introduced land ceiling laws and distributed surplus land to the poor. However, he said the situation has changed now, leaving the government with no surplus land to distribute.
Education as a Tool for Social Respect
The Chief Minister told students that education is the most powerful tool available today. He said careless or half-hearted learning brings no real benefit. Instead, he urged students to study with dedication and discipline.
Revanth Reddy highlighted that sustained hard work during the first 25 years of life can ensure a dignified and respectful life for the next 75 years. He encouraged students to use government educational institutions as a platform to achieve their goals.
Leaders Attend the Program
Several senior leaders attended the event, including Ministers Damodar Rajanarasimha, Vakiti Srihari, and Jupally Krishna Rao. MP DK Aruna and other public representatives were also present.
The Chief Minister concluded by reaffirming that the government will continue to invest in educational infrastructure to empower future generations and reduce inequality through learning, not charity.
