Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday delivered a sharp message to media organisations, warning them against publishing reports that damage the reputation of his ministers. He made it clear that any disputes between media houses should remain internal and must not target the state government or its ministers.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing a public meeting at Yedulapuram in Khammam district, after laying foundation stones for development works worth ₹362 crore.
Ask for Clarification Before Publishing
Speaking firmly, Revanth Reddy urged journalists to seek clarification before writing stories about the government. He said he is always accessible for explanations and expects responsible reporting. Moreover, he cautioned the media not to malign ministers through unverified allegations.
“If you have disputes among yourselves, resolve them privately. However, do not drag our ministers into such issues,” the Chief Minister stated. He added that negative reporting not only harms individuals but also affects the dignity of the government.
Singareni Tenders Are Transparent
Meanwhile, responding to reports alleging corruption in Singareni coal mine tenders, Revanth Reddy categorically rejected the claims. He asserted that the government follows a transparent process and awards contracts only to experienced agencies.
Furthermore, he clarified that no corruption occurred during the Congress government’s tenure and accused certain sections of spreading false narratives. He also warned that such misinformation could indirectly benefit the opposition BRS.
Development Focus and Welfare Measures
Revanth Reddy recalled that his political journey began in Khammam and reiterated his commitment to the district’s growth. Accordingly, he launched multiple infrastructure and welfare projects during the visit.
At the same time, he criticised the previous BRS government, stating that people once struggled even to obtain ration cards. In contrast, he said the Congress government issued lakhs of new ration cards after coming to power. He highlighted welfare initiatives such as free fine rice, 200 units of free electricity, and the allocation of 4.50 lakh Indiramma houses to the poor.
Bhadradri to Be Developed Like Ayodhya
On Bhadradri development, the Chief Minister accused former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of failing to keep his promises. However, he assured that the present government completed land acquisition and will develop Bhadradri on the lines of Ayodhya.
In conclusion, Revanth Reddy said all ministers are working in coordination and expressed confidence that the Congress government will remain in power for the next decade. He reaffirmed his vision to make Telangana one of the top states in the country.
