A shocking incident from Sangareddy district has triggered widespread outrage after an audio clip surfaced in which a hostel warden allegedly ordered staff to poison students’ food. The incident occurred at the SC Boys’ Welfare Hostel in Sirgapur, exposing serious concerns about student safety.
Students Protest Against Warden’s Harassment
According to officials, hostel warden Kishan Naik had been harassing and mistreating students for several days. Unable to tolerate his behaviour, students staged a protest on the Kadpal–Sirgapur road on Thursday night. Authorities rushed to the spot and conducted an inquiry at the hostel.
During the inspection, students submitted a written complaint against the warden, detailing his alleged misconduct and abusive behaviour.
Audio Clip Triggers Shock and Anger
Enraged by the complaint, Kishan Naik reportedly returned to the hostel on Friday morning in an intoxicated state. He allegedly abused the students and later called hostel staff. In the audio clip that later went viral, the warden can be heard saying, “Did they complain against me? Mix poison in their rice and kill them.”
The disturbing audio spread rapidly on social media, drawing sharp criticism from the public, activists, and political leaders. Many demanded strict action, calling the incident an attempt to endanger innocent lives.
Collector Orders Immediate Suspension
Reacting swiftly, Sangareddy District Collector Praveenya ordered the immediate suspension of Kishan Naik. Officials stated that the suspension came not only for dereliction of duty but also for making remarks that threatened the lives of students.
The district administration assured parents and the public that student safety remains a top priority. Authorities have also launched a detailed inquiry into the incident and are examining the authenticity of the audio clip.
Demand for Strong Action
The incident has once again raised questions about the monitoring of welfare hostels and the conduct of officials in charge. Student organisations and civil rights groups have demanded criminal action against the suspended warden.
Officials said further action will follow based on the investigation report, as the incident continues to spark statewide concern.
