The Rathotsavam was celebrated in a grand festive atmosphere at Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple as part of the annual Brahmotsavams. On the eighth day of the celebrations, Sunday morning witnessed a magnificent procession of Lord Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi.
Divine Procession Begins Amid Vedic Chants
At 7:45 AM, the Rathotsava Mahotsavam commenced with spiritual grandeur. Priests performed sacred rituals before the utsava deities ascended the beautifully decorated chariot. Vedic scholars recited hymns, while traditional mangala vadyams created a devotional rhythm. As chants of “Govinda… Govinda…” echoed in the air, the divine procession began its journey through the four mada streets surrounding the temple.
Devotees Pull the Sacred Chariot
Thousands of devotees gathered to witness the celestial event. Men, women, and children participated without distinction, reflecting deep faith and unity. With devotion in their hearts, devotees pulled the temple chariot and prayed for the fulfilment of their wishes. Their enthusiasm and spiritual energy transformed the entire temple town into a sea of devotion.
Moreover, the sight of the deity on the towering ratham offered a rare and divine darshan. Many devotees offered camphor harati and folded their hands in reverence as the chariot passed by.

Bhakta groups performed traditional wooden bhajans and kolatam dances along the procession route. The rhythmic beats and devotional songs praised Lord Venkateswara and enhanced the festive spirit.
