A massive influx of devotees is heading to Srisailam for the Maha Shivaratri Brahmotsavams, passing through Dornala in Markapuram district. Pilgrims from across Andhra Pradesh, along with devotees from neighbouring states, are travelling in large numbers via this route. As a result, traffic congestion has increased significantly near the Dornala Ganapathi check post.
The area around the check post is packed with cars, buses, and two-wheelers. The heavy movement of vehicles has slowed traffic, especially along the ghat road sections leading toward Srisailam. Devotees continue to arrive throughout the day, adding to the pressure on local roads.
In response, officials from the police, revenue, and transport departments have gone on high alert. Authorities are closely monitoring vehicle movement and have introduced special traffic control measures to prevent congestion on the ghat roads. Personnel are regulating traffic at key points to ensure smooth passage for pilgrims.
Officials have advised devotees to follow traffic guidelines and cooperate with authorities to avoid delays. Continuous monitoring is underway as the pilgrim rush is expected to increase further in the coming days.
