Progressive Panel records decisive win in TFCC elections

Renowned film producer D. Suresh Babu has taken charge as the President of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) for the 2025–2027 term. His team, the Progressive Panel, secured a convincing victory in the recently concluded chamber elections, signalling a strong mandate from the industry.

Clear majority strengthens Progressive Panel

Importantly, the Progressive Panel, backed by leading producers Allu Aravind and Dil Raju, won 28 out of 44 Executive Committee (EC) seats. As a result, the panel gained full control of the chamber. Meanwhile, the rival Mana Panel, led by C. Kalyan, T. Prasanna Kumar, and Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao, secured 15 seats. One seat in the distribution sector ended in a tie.

Peaceful polling and smooth vote counting

Polling took place peacefully on Sunday from 8 am to 1 pm at the Film Chamber office in Film Nagar, Hyderabad. Afterward, officials completed the vote counting without delay and announced the final results in the evening. Consequently, the election process earned appreciation from several industry members.

Key office bearers elected

Since the Progressive Panel achieved a clear majority, its members took charge of all major positions. Nagavanshi assumed office as Vice President, while Ashok Kumar became Secretary. In addition, Mutyala Ramdas took responsibility as Treasurer. Furthermore, Bharat Chowdhury was elected Vice President of the Distribution Sector, and Kiran assumed charge as Vice President of the Studio Sector.

Sector-wise performance highlights

Notably, the Progressive Panel dominated the exhibitors sector, winning 14 of the 16 seats. However, the Mana Panel performed better in the producers sector, where it secured 7 seats, compared to 5 seats won by the Progressive Panel.

Strong voter participation

Overall, 3,355 members, including producers, distributors, exhibitors, and studio owners, exercised their voting rights. The newly elected executive committee will continue in office until July 2027, raising expectations of industry growth and structural reforms under Suresh Babu’s leadership.
