A thick blanket of fog covered large parts of north India on Saturday morning, leaving tourists in Agra disappointed as the Taj Mahal remained almost invisible. Visitors who travelled from faraway places to witness the iconic monument returned disappointed after fog blocked the view completely.
From the main viewing points, tourists could see nothing but dense white fog. Even at close range near the main entrance, the Taj Mahal’s structure remained hidden. Many visitors said they could not capture the beauty of the monument despite waiting for hours.
Video Goes Viral on Social Media
A tourist recorded a video showing the Taj Mahal engulfed in fog and shared it on social media. The clip quickly went viral, drawing humorous and curious reactions from users. Several netizens commented, “Where is the Taj Mahal?” while others joked by calling it “Fog Mahal” instead of Taj Mahal.
Selfies Turn Futile
Tourists who planned to take selfies and photographs in front of the monument ended up with nothing but a foggy background. The poor visibility spoiled travel plans for many visitors who had come specifically to admire the world-famous structure.
Impact on Local Livelihoods
The fog has also affected flights and train services, causing delays across the region. Local guides, photographers, and small traders near the Taj Mahal said their business suffered as tourists left early due to poor visibility.
Fog Likely to Continue
The weather department warned that dense fog conditions may continue for the next few days in north India. Officials advised tourists to check weather conditions before planning visits to the Taj Mahal and other tourist spots.
As winter tightens its grip, the iconic monument continues to remain hidden behind layers of fog, leaving visitors waiting for clearer skies to witness its timeless beauty.
