Tension prevailed in Allipudi village of Kothananduru mandal in Kakinada district after a violent clash broke out between TDP and YSRCP workers on Saturday. The incident turned deadly when both groups allegedly attacked each other with knives, resulting in the death of TDP worker Bangaraiah.
According to police, the clash left four people seriously injured. TDP workers Durga Prasad and Sriramamurthy sustained severe injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. YSRCP workers Narayanamurthy and Satish were also injured in the violence and were shifted to a hospital for medical care.
Clash triggered after birthday event
Police said the incident occurred when a group of TDP workers was returning after attending a birthday celebration in the village. During their return, they allegedly encountered YSRCP workers, which led to a heated argument. The situation quickly escalated into a violent clash, with both sides reportedly using sharp weapons.
Preliminary investigations suggest that old disputes between the two groups may have triggered the confrontation.
Police action and investigation
Following the incident, police registered a case and launched an investigation to identify those responsible for the violence. To prevent further unrest, authorities deployed additional police forces and set up picketing in and around the village.
Police officials said the situation is currently under control and urged residents to maintain peace while the investigation continues.
