Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held an exclusive interaction with the media, addressing political controversies, infrastructure projects, and governance priorities.
Honouring NTR’s Legacy
CM Reddy praised Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) as a national leader. “NTR’s legacy belongs to the nation, not to anyone personally,” he said. He demanded that NTR receive the Bharat Ratna for his contributions. Reddy added that the Congress Party honoured NTR by installing his statue in Parliament.
Clarifying the Forensic Lab Controversy
Reddy debunked recent claims about a forensic lab mishap. Some reports alleged missing voting notes. He clarified, “After thorough analysis, no evidence supports these claims.” He warned against spreading false propaganda.
Updates on Development Projects
The CM provided updates on key infrastructure initiatives:
Telangana will complete the Hyderabad Metro takeover process by March 31, 2026.
Groundbreaking ceremonies for airports in Adilabad and Warangal will occur on June 2.
Reddy highlighted the government’s focus on efficient project execution and timely completion.
Governance and Accountability
Revanth Reddy emphasised strong leadership: “I oversee governance as both the leader and minister of Telangana.” He assured that he will personally address all Singareni Coal issues during Assembly sessions.
Regarding comments by Union Minister Kishan Reddy, the CM said, “Once the facts are clear, he should recognise his mistake and apologise.”
Reddy also addressed phone-tapping rumours, stating, “I do not monitor anyone’s phone. Intercepting conversations causes mental stress and violates privacy.”
Water Sharing and State Projects
On the Krishna and Godavari basin projects, Reddy insisted on fairness. “Telangana has a rightful share of the water. Andhra Pradesh should not block our projects if they follow proper procedures,” he said. He added that floodwater calculations support Telangana’s projects and require a uniform approach in both basins.
Law and Order
Reddy condemned political violence in Mahbubnagar. “No councillor disputes require murder or threats. If BJP leaders have doubts, they should request a CBI investigation,” he said.
Future Plans and Administrative Milestones
On administration, Reddy said the cabinet expansion was not discussed in recent meetings. He also shared future timelines:
Jamili elections will occur in 2029.
Population census results will be released by May or June 2027.
Women’s reservation and constituency reorganisation will conclude by 2028.
CM Revanth Reddy concluded by reaffirming his commitment to transparency, citizen-focused governance, and the timely execution of state development projects.
