Election Schedule Released Across the State
The Telangana municipal election process has officially begun, creating political momentum across the state. Election authorities released the schedule for polls in 116 municipalities and seven municipal corporations. With this notification, the nomination process started as the first major step toward local body elections.
Strong Response on Day One of Nominations
From the first day itself, candidates showed strong interest in the elections. Leaders from major political parties, along with many independent candidates, filed their nomination papers. Elections will take place for 2,996 wards across 123 municipalities and corporations. For these seats, 890 candidates submitted a total of 902 nominations, reflecting intense early competition.
Election Commission Issues Clear Guidelines
Meanwhile, the State Election Commission announced detailed guidelines for the candidates. These rules clearly explain eligibility criteria, security deposits, and election spending limits. Officials aim to maintain transparency and discipline throughout the election process by enforcing these norms strictly.
Parties Focus on Ticket Allocation Strategy
As nominations continue, political parties have shifted their focus to ticket distribution. Senior leaders are holding continuous discussions to finalise candidates. At the same time, aspirants remain tense about securing the official party B-form. Many hopefuls continue outreach efforts while waiting for confirmation.
Major Parties Prepare for Ward-Level Battles
Across Telangana, elections will be held for all 2,996 wards and divisions. Parties such as Congress, BRS, BJP, MIM, and Left parties have several leaders ready to contest. However, most parties have avoided early announcements to prevent internal dissatisfaction and rebellion.
Final-Day B-Form Plan Takes Shape
To manage internal balance, many parties plan to issue B-forms on the final day of nominations. Leaders believe this approach helps pacify disappointed aspirants. It also reduces the chance of candidates switching parties or entering the race as rebels.
Political Heat Expected to Rise
Overall, the nomination phase has revealed both public enthusiasm and sharp political calculations. As the deadline approaches, political activity is expected to intensify further. The coming days will play a crucial role in shaping the final contest for Telangana’s municipal elections.
