Telangana voters have begun casting their ballots in the Telangana municipal polling 2026. Today, polling is underway in 412 divisions across seven corporations and 2,569 wards in 116 municipalities, running from 7 AM to 5 PM. If necessary, authorities will conduct re-polling the following day.
The State Election Commission (SEC) has equipped all polling centres with live webcasting to ensure transparency. Moreover, it is strictly enforcing Section 163 across all polling areas.
Officials will count the votes on February 13. Then, on February 16, Telangana will elect mayors, deputy mayors, municipal chairpersons, and vice-chairpersons for the corporations.
Polling in Ward 6 of Maktal has been postponed following the BJP candidate’s death. Authorities are using 16,382 ballot boxes for the elections. The SEC has deployed 13,079 returning officers and 41,773 staff members to manage the polling process efficiently.
In the 412 divisions, 2,225 candidates are contesting. Congress has 410 candidates, BRS has 401, and BJP has 382. To help voters, the SEC introduced the T-Poll app. Voters can download slips using their EPIC numbers and locate polling centres easily.
