Maoists suffered another setback in Chhattisgarh after security forces killed three cadres in an encounter in Sukma district. The incident took place in the Gollapalli forest area during an early morning operation.
According to officials, local police and security forces launched a joint search operation after receiving specific intelligence about Maoist movement in the forest region. As the forces intensified combing, Maoists opened fire on them.
Alert security personnel immediately retaliated, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire. Three Maoists died on the spot during the encounter, officials confirmed.
Senior officers said that security teams continue combing operations in and around the encounter site. They added that authorities will release more details after completing the operation.
The encounter comes amid intensified anti-Maoist action in the state under Operation Kagar. Security forces have stepped up efforts in recent months to dismantle Maoist networks and restore normalcy in affected districts.
