Tiger sightings have recently alarmed people across both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Forest officials report that a large tiger has been roaming the forests of East Godavari district, causing concern among villagers.
In Andhra Pradesh, the tiger was first spotted in the Pedagedda forest area of Rampachodavaram Mandal in Polavaram district. Villagers in areas such as Divancheruvu, Keshavaram, and Rayavaram reported sightings, which triggered fear and panic in the region.
Tiger Relocated for Safety
Forest officials captured the tiger and transported it to Visakhapatnam Zoo for treatment. After recovery, the tiger was released into the Papikonda Wildlife Sanctuary. However, it later reappeared in the forests of Rampachodavaram and Maredumilli Mandals.
Authorities have warned residents of several villages in Rampachodavaram to remain vigilant. They advised people not to venture out alone at night and to report any tiger sightings immediately.
Tiger Sightings in Telangana
Telangana residents are also facing tiger-related concerns. In Bheemaram Mandal, Jagityal district, villagers spotted tiger footprints in the Motkuravupeta forest area. Farmers noticed paw prints near their fields and alerted forest officials. After inspection, authorities confirmed the presence of a tiger in the area.
Officials also discovered footprints in Bandagutta and Maisamma Gudi regions of Motkuravupeta. They have urged local villagers, farmers, and travellers along the Motkuravupeta–Chandurti jungle road to exercise caution and avoid venturing into forested areas alone.
Vigilance Urged Across Both States
Overall, tiger movements are causing concern across both Telugu states. Forest departments in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana continue to monitor the situation closely. Authorities urge residents to follow safety guidelines, report sightings promptly, and stay alert to prevent any accidents.
The tiger sightings highlight the importance of human-wildlife coexistence and the need for residents to respect wildlife boundaries while ensuring community safety.
