ED Set to Enter High-Profile Tirumala Laddu Case
The alleged adulteration of ghee used in Tirumala laddu prasadam has triggered fresh political turbulence in Andhra Pradesh. Now, the Enforcement Directorate is preparing to enter the investigation. Officials aim to trace the money trail and identify those who allegedly paid and received bribes. Since investigators detected hawala transactions, the ED has registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. As a result, officials are likely to issue notices to beneficiaries soon.
Multiple Agencies Already Conducted Detailed Probe
Meanwhile, the CBI and the Anti-Corruption Bureau have already carried out extensive investigations. Both agencies filed a chargesheet against 36 accused in connection with the case. According to official findings, financial irregularities worth nearly ₹235 crore occurred during the ghee supply process linked to the Tirumala laddu. Consequently, the case drew nationwide attention due to its religious and political sensitivity.
Chargesheet Reveals Hawala Transactions and Money Flow
At the same time, a Supreme Court-appointed CBI special investigation team examined the financial links in detail. The chargesheet revealed that about ₹20 crore moved through hawala channels. Investigators traced this money to a house in Tirupati. Records show that ₹75 lakh reached a TTD dairy expert, while ₹31 lakh went to a commission agent. Moreover, officials confirmed that nearly ₹19.86 crore was transferred to the CEO of Vaishnavi Dairy.
ED to Trace Final Beneficiaries and Fund Diversion
Now, the ED plans to track where the money moved after these transfers. Sources indicate that Bole Baba management figures played a key role in the alleged racket. Investigators believe that hawala funds were converted into white money and routed back to Bole Baba-linked companies. Furthermore, hawala agents reportedly sent money to individuals based in Vijayawada, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
Political Tension Mounts as ED Prepares Summons
Based on these findings, the ED has registered an ECIR and is preparing to summon agents and beneficiaries for questioning. Therefore, political tension is rising, especially within the YSR Congress. Leaders remain anxious as speculation grows over who will receive ED notices next. As developments continue, the case is expected to have significant political repercussions in the state.
