Minister Kollu Ravindra stirred political debate by accusing YSR Congress Party leaders of allowing adulterated ghee to be used in the Tirumala Laddu. He stated that the sacred offering was compromised for commissions, which deeply hurt the sentiments of devotees across the state. The remarks came during the oath-taking ceremony of the Andhra Pradesh Fishermen Cooperative Societies Federation.
Speaking at the event, Kollu Ravindra said the issue was not just administrative but moral. He stressed that Tirumala represents faith for millions, and any compromise in its traditions amounts to a serious betrayal. Moreover, he questioned why YSRCP leaders continued to deny responsibility even after an investigating agency confirmed the use of chemical-mixed ghee in the laddu preparation.
Meanwhile, he pointed out that public trust suffers when accountability is avoided. He added that transparency becomes essential when matters involve religious institutions of such importance. Therefore, he urged leaders to place devotion above politics and act responsibly.
At the same ceremony, ministers Atchannaidu and Savitha also participated, highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening cooperative institutions. In addition, Kollu Ravindra reiterated that the current administration remains committed to protecting temple sanctity and restoring confidence among devotees.
As the controversy continues, the allegations have intensified political tensions in Andhra Pradesh. However, the minister maintained that truth would prevail and that strict steps are necessary to prevent such incidents in the future.
