Tirupati will witness a grand spiritual celebration on January 16 as the Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshanasala organizes Gopuja Mahotsavam on the occasion of the Kanuma festival.
The Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanams (TTD) will conduct the event at the SV Gosala with a series of sacred rituals and cultural programmes. The celebrations will begin early in the morning with Abhishekam, special pujas, and harati to Sri Venugopala Swamy from 5:00 am to 10:30 am.
Following the rituals, priests will perform Gopuja from 10:30 am to 11:15 am, offering prayers to Gomata as per tradition. The programme will then move to devotional and cultural performances.
Artists from the Dasa Sahitya Project will present bhajans and kolatams from 11:15 am, while performers from the Annamacharya Project will render soul-stirring sankeertanas later in the morning.
From 12 noon onwards, devotees can have darshan of Sri Venugopala Swamy. The temple authorities will also distribute prasadam to all devotees after darshan.
On this auspicious day, TTD is giving devotees a special opportunity to personally offer jaggery, rice, and fodder to the cows at the gosala. Officials have urged devotees to take part in the sacred service and seek the blessings of Gomata and Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy.
The event is expected to attract a large number of devotees from Tirupati and nearby regions.
