A major bomb scare created panic in Tirupati on March 4, 2026, after three prominent hotels received threatening emails claiming they would be blown up. The anonymous messages targeted the Raj Park Hotel near Kapila Theertham, the Pai Viceroy Hotel, and SRB Hotel near Upparapalli. However, after hours of intensive checks, police confirmed that the threats were a hoax.
Intensive Searches at Prominent Hotels
As soon as hotel management alerted authorities, police responded swiftly. Since these hotels often host celebrities, VIPs, and business leaders, officials treated the threat with utmost seriousness. Bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog teams conducted detailed searches across rooms, parking areas, kitchens, and public spaces.
The operation continued for several hours. Meanwhile, guests and staff cooperated with security personnel to ensure a smooth inspection process.
No Explosives Found
After completing the search, police confirmed that they found no suspicious objects. Authorities declared the bomb threat false and reassured the public that the situation remained under control. Hotel operations resumed normally soon after the clearance.

Pattern of Repeated Threats
Notably, this incident came just a day after a similar bomb threat targeted the Chittoor Court on March 3, 2026. Over the past year, more than ten hotels in Tirupati have received comparable threatening emails. Investigators revealed that many of these messages originated from foreign servers, making tracking more challenging.
Suspected Cybercrime Angle
Police suspect that cybercriminals are behind these repeated hoax emails. In some cases, the senders reportedly used the name of drug kingpin Jaffer Sadiq to create fear. Officials believe the motive may include creating panic, diverting police resources, or damaging Tirupati’s tourism reputation.
Authorities have launched a detailed cyber investigation to trace the source of the emails. They also urged the public not to panic and assured that strict action will follow once those responsible are identified.
The latest hoax once again highlights the growing misuse of digital platforms to spread fear. However, swift police action prevented chaos and ensured safety across the city.
