Iran has intensified missile and drone attacks across West Asia after joint strikes by Israel and the United States. The escalation followed reports of the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which triggered strong retaliation from Tehran. Iranian forces targeted Israeli cities and American military bases in the region. Explosions rocked parts of the United Arab Emirates, disrupting airports, ports, and daily life. The fast-moving conflict has pushed the Middle East closer to a wider war.
Iran Targets Key Locations in UAE
Iran launched missiles toward strategic sites in Dubai. Strikes hit areas near Dubai International Airport and the iconic Burj Al Arab. A drone strike sparked a small fire at a hotel site, but emergency teams quickly controlled it. Officials confirmed that no one died in that incident. However, four people suffered injuries in related attacks.
A blast also damaged a berth at Jebel Ali Port. Authorities increased security across Dubai. Sirens echoed through cities as residents stayed alert during the holy month of Ramadan. In Abu Dhabi, local reports said an attack near the airport killed one person and injured seven others. Officials are still verifying details.
Gulf Countries Shoot Down Missiles and Drones
The UAE military acted quickly and intercepted 165 ballistic missiles and 541 drones. Defence officials said their air systems performed effectively under pressure.
Kuwait reported multiple missile and drone launches toward its territory. Three Kuwaiti soldiers suffered injuries. Jordan intercepted 49 Iranian drones before they reached targets.
At the same time, Bahrain and Qatar confirmed they destroyed incoming threats. These rapid defence actions prevented larger casualties.
Airlines cancelled many flights across West Asia. Airports saw long queues as passengers waited for updates. Authorities in Abu Dhabi closed schools until Tuesday to ensure student safety.
Heavy Rocket Fire Hits Israel
Iran continued airstrikes on Israel, focusing on central regions and defence facilities. Militants fired dozens of rockets within hours. In Beit Shemesh, a missile struck a place of worship. The attack killed at least eight people and injured more than 28, including a four-year-old child. The town lies close to Jerusalem.
Israeli authorities confirmed 10 deaths so far from the recent strikes. More than 120 people have suffered injuries. Several homes have also sustained damage.
